What is ADI DigiPOT?
ADI DigiPOT is the collective term for ADI’s digital potentiometer product line, also known as RDAC (Resistor-to-Analogue Converter). It utilises digital interfaces such as I²C, SPI or Up/Down to adjust the internal resistor network, thereby replacing traditional mechanical potentiometers to achieve functions such as volume control, gain adjustment, offset calibration and voltage regulation.
Compared with mechanical potentiometers, ADI DigiPOT offers advantages such as no mechanical wear, remote control capability, programmability, compact size, vibration resistance and a long service life. Some models incorporate non-volatile EEPROM, enabling the cursor position to be retained after power is cut off and the set values to be restored upon power-up.
