MCS1803GS-20-Z Linear Hall-Effect Current Sensor IC with ±2.5% Accuracy, 20A Current Sensing, and 100kHz Frequency

The MCS1803GS-20-Z is a linear Hall-effect current sensor designed for AC or DC current sensing applications. The sensor features a differential Hall array that effectively cancels out stray magnetic fields for improved accuracy.

A low-resistance primary conductor allows current to flow in close proximity to the IC, which incorporates high-accuracy Hall-effect sensors. This current generates a magnetic field that is detected at two distinct points by integrated Hall-effect transducers. The magnetic field difference between these points is converted into a voltage proportional to the applied current. The device employs a spinning current technique to achieve low stable offset.

Galvanic isolation between the primary conductive path pins and sensor leads enables the MCS1803 to replace opto-isolators or other isolation devices in various applications.
